What others have said:
"Our job here in Leeds is to help schools release the magic in our children and young people. Soul2Feet is one of those remarkable organisations that simply makes you want to get up and dance. Whether you are a child or an adult you will be inspired by this wonderful group of talented people."
Chris Edwards – Chief Executive Education Leeds

Especially rewarding to see year 6 boys who would not usually be motivated to dance taking a very active part.
Mrs A. Burn – Head of Yearsley Grove Primary School

I felt your session this morning was great fun for all the children…and for all of us as well!
Mrs Knowles Teacher

Highly enjoyable. Managers, staff and young people all took part – great fun and a great leveller- certainly to be recommended.
Sue Hayes – Director of Childrens Services BARNADO'S

You taught them not only about African music and dance but also built up their self-confidence and self-esteem. I have learnt skills and activities that I can reuse in my teaching.
Miss K. Sissons Primary School Teacher

You helped them develop respect for themselves and for you as first class performers and teachers
Mrs Runciman Primary School Teacher

School’s testimonials:
Costume Design:

“Amanda & Emily helped the young people to gain confidence during the sessions. It was good that the children did not have to worry about it being perfect…that really helped them to relax when they discovered that. By the end of the sessions they were all really keen to help each other and worked very well as a team to create the costumes for the other groups to perform in.”
Mrs Waite – Head of Art & Design - Parklands High School

Young people’s testimonials:
I really liked making the costumes. It was good trying things on as we made‘em
L.M (14yrs)

“I don’t like Thursday’s normally because it is science. Today I was so excited to come to school because I knew we were gonna make things again… I even got outta bed early to get here on time just because we were making the African costumes!”
Anon. 14yrs

• By the end of the session I could cut in a straight line!
• I learnt how to adapt a mistake into a new design that was better than the first idea
• I worked with people I would not normally work with… normally I stick with me mates
• I found out that I am creative – I didn’t know I could make stuff like this so easily
• I made a t-shirt out of a piece of material … it was so easy that I am gonna make some more when I get home.
• Used a sewing machine for the first time. It was really good.
• It has given me confidence to have a go and try new things with material without worrying if I make a mistake
• I liked that I could do my own design and do it my way and make it different to everyone else
• I have never done anything like this before… I have really enjoyed it! Can we do it again?
